Genesis Cohousing
Louisville, Kentucky,
United States
Our mission is to create a diverse community that allows its members to live sustainably and justly within the city limits of Louisville, Kentucky.
We desire to build a cohousing community of about 20 households that is designed to encourage interactions between people and enrich our lives with the pleasure of cooperation and friendship. The community will be a mix of affordable market-rate and low-income homes as well as some rental units. We care about the Earth and are committed to environmentally sustainable practices and building techniques. Our multigenerational community welcomes diversity and values the input of each person.
We are currently in the early planning stages. We have incorporated as a nonprofit and are now looking for land, a developer, low-income housing financing, etc. We currently have enough members to begin the development process, but there is still room for more.
