Jan Hus Church and Neighborhood House
New York, New York,
United States
Jan Hus Presbyterian Church and Neigbhorhood House runs a small (8-9) progressive Christian community. We are located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Residents each have their own room and share a large common kitchen with washer/dryer, bathrooms, local phone, storage, common lounge available at certain times. DSL included. Residents pay between $500-600 in rent, plus 10 hours a week of service to the Neighborhood House; additional time is required in the church's neighborhood missions (Homeless Outreach, LGBT community, children ministries, etc.) Residents are required to: meet weekly for either meal or social activities, monthly meetings, and attend worship at least once a month with Jan Hus Presbyterian Church. The residence is located on the third -- sixth floors of our Neighborhood House, which offers many programs to the community (Senior Center, nursery school, Homeless Outreach and Advocacy, gym, Theatre, dozens of self-help meetings, and other community events.)
