This is a commune that is in the forming stages in the Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada area. This is a primitive/modern commune. Basically, we use technology to help build and maintain sustainably. Statement of Housing Non-discrimination:

Because our housing is a single housing unit and requires the sharing of bathroom, kitchen and common space membership/residency may be restricted based on sex/gender in accordance with the law. Our community does not discriminate based on race/color, national origin, religion, family status (i.e. having children, not having children, or being pregnant), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, ancestry, source of income, age, creed, personal appearance, political affiliation, HIV infection, military/veteran status, unfavorable military discharge, gender identity or expression, receiving public assistance, or domestic abuse.

Population Open to new members: Yes	Government Decision Making: By consensus Identified Leader: No Leadership Core Group: Yes (voting members)	Labor and Money Financial Style: Members have independent finances (members would buy shares. everyone would have the same amount of shares to pay for community projects. personal expenses are paid for by the individual.(see website for more details)) Open to Members with Pre-existing Debt: Yes (you would still have to meet the financial obligations that each member would normally, no expected exemptions, but for the right person we may make allowances(delay payment, make arrangements)) Labor Contribution: Expected (everone would have tasks to do, whatever they are capable of doing. also rotation of tasks. If someone is not helping out or pulling their weight they may be asked or told to leave) Join Fee: Yes (no fee but possible initial share buy-in. (see website)) Regular Fees: Yes (possibly to pay bills/land taxes until the community has it's own source of income. (see website))
Land and Buildings Rural (mostly surrounded by crown land) Area: 80 acres (32.4 hectares) (some cleared, some wooded, some being dug into a pond...) Land Owned By: Individual community member(s) (right now as no co-op structure yet, if all goes well, hoping to have it either leased to the SSS for the price of taxes, or sold to the SSS. Will be decided by concensus.) Number of Residences: 1 (One 16 X 18 cabin. one 16 X 26 cabin. the hope is to have one main hall and then one lodging house with separate rooms under one roof, and separate bath/showering facilities.) Cohousing: No	Food, etc. Percentage of Food Grown: 1-5% (mostly wild edibles, just purchassed the land so a garden is in the works and this figure will change drasticly as the seasons go by) Share Community Meals: Nearly all meals (the plan would be to have all meals together with people able to share the workload of preparing meals for the group) Dietary Choice or Restrictions: Diet is up to each individual Dietary Practice: Omnivorous (omnivore diet. other diets welcome but people would have to realise that this would be more difficult to achieve where we are(winter makes things tough for vegans but not impossible).) Alcohol Use: Seldom used (depends if we are able to make our own with what we have...) Tobacco Use: Prohibited (right now prohibited until furthur notice(religious/spiritual ceremonies exempt by asking in advance))	Social Factors Common Spiritual Practices: No Which Spiritual Traditions(s): (religion is up to the individual, one rule though, don't preach. discuss yes, preach no.) Educational Style(s): Home schooling (decision on this will depend on the group decision, right now i'm thinking home schooling within the community)
