Volunteer Community Members Enjoy Indoor Jungle Camping in the Barn!
Hedonisia Hawaii is an eco-hostel with a rotating community of volunteers and tourists from around the world. We are located in the rainforest region of the "Big Island" of Hawaii. Though we are an eco-hostel, we define ourselves as a community of independent travelers.
For budget travelers or those who wish to enjoy a socially progressive vacation Hedonisia Hawaii offers a Fair Trade Volunteer Program. Details are on our website.
However, in essence the program allows volunteers to work 15 hours a week in exchange for accommodation. Volunteers may also harvest from the various food gardens we have on the property. Volunteers can work at the hostel or our Tropical Hawaiian Farm.
In addition to our hostel and farm activities, Hedonisia Hawaii is very activist oriented on the internet. We own and maintain a number of websites that deal with various issues that face us in the world today. So we are also looking for volunteers with research, writing, or other internet skills who wish to work on websites that deal with the following issues: women's and men's rights, reproductive choice, sustainable living, religious fundamentalism, tantra, and yoga.
Hedonisia Hawaii is located near the town of Pahoa on Big Island Hawaii. This is the New Age capital of Hawaii. Many alternative communities are located in this region, as well as an excellent health food store in town and many yoga centres located nearby.
In the future, we will bring a more tantric foundation for our community where it will be a place for workshops as well as a healing place. We invite like-minded individuals to bring their skills and knowledge to share in the realisation of that goal.
