Heartwood Institute
Garberville, California,
United States
Heartwood Lodge
Celebrating 30 years of existence, Heartwood Institute, nestled in the peaceful mountains of northern California, continues to be the only residential school of its kind combining community living with holistic health education. Heartwood offers a full spectrum of one- to three-week Intensive classes with many modalities of bodywork and healing arts, whole foods nutrition, and permaculture. The campus also supports self-directed wellness retreats. The retreat-like setting, the nurturing organic food, the healing community environment, and our commitment to excellence create an experience that our students report that they look upon as the most meaningful of their lives.
Heartwood’s Purpose is to learn, grow, and love through service.
"Service Is Love In Action."
Heartwood’s vision is to ethically develop a productive, regenerative community that is dedicated to supporting holistic-healing education and right-livelihood, honoring the sacredness and unity of all.
Heartwood’s Mission is to be a holistic-healing school and community dedicated to empowering each individual in fulfilling his or her dreams of a career and life with heart.
The intrinsic Heartwood Values are:
Loving Service: The commitment to the sacred path of compassionate service; from gratitude, meaning is found through supporting others to heal and flourish. Life is sacred—labor is sacred.
Integrity: The commitment to relate to self and others with awareness, honesty, and respect, and to be personally accountable. Walk your talk.
Honoring Spirit: The commitment to respect the essence and uniqueness of each individual’s journey and cultivate a personal spiritual practice. Many paths—one goal.
Personal Growth & Healing: The commitment to co-create a safe and supportive atmosphere to do the inner and outer work that encourages the highest good in oneself, others, and the Earth. Heal yourself—heal the world.
Holistic World Practice: The commitment to create working models of right livelihood—sustainability, community, awareness, responsibility, and healing. We are all connected—what one does affects the whole.
