Camphill Community Dingle is situated in one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland in a quiet rural location just a few miles out of Dingle town.
In 1993-1994 a group of parents and friends got together to form an initiative group to invite Camphill to Dingle. 10 years of meetings, fundraising, visits and talks followed and the 44 acres of land were bought.
In the autumn of 2004, a group of co-workers moved to Dingle to start building up a community. The land itself had only a tumbled down shed on it and though we now plan to move to the land, and have planning permission for the first purpose built house and outline planning permission for 3 others and for a small hall and workshop, we had to find other accommodation in the mean time.
Since then 3 rented houses have been found within walking distance of the land. And the community has grown to 15 - 20 people. We have built up the stone shed into a food processing work shop, office and some accommodation and have also build up a weaving workshop, candle workshop, garden shed, poly tunnels and farm building.
