 Valles de Nanzal Eco-Village is situated on 75 titled acres of lush rolling hillside at between 1,400 – 1,500 ft. elevation, located in the District of Sora, Province of Panama, Republic of Panama approximately 50 miles (1 hr.) west of Panama City, 15 - 20 km. from the communities of Sora(NW) and Chame/Coronado(SW). Access to the property is via a new 6 km. all-weather gravel road off the Bejuco - Sora Highway. There are two perennial streams and 2 aquifers on the property which will be stack-utilized for hydroelectric power generation. aquaculture ponds, agricultural irrigation, and household use. Approximately 75% of the land will be dedicated to community agriculture, aquaculture, forestry, and other sustainable uses.
Phase I (30 acres) has been topographically mapped, and preliminary roads, community sites, home sites, and infrastructure locations have been delineated, and will soon be ready for submission to governmental authorities for issuance of a development permit. Permit issuance will allow for subdivision into 12 home and other community sites. Construction of homes and community facilities and infrastructure may begin approximately 90 days after the plan submission.
The founder, Daniel Owsiany has been active in the study and application of Permamculture principals since 1992, and has had formal training, through the Permaculture Drylands Institute (Santa Fe, NM 1992 - 1995) as an accredited Permaculture Designer and Trainer. Daniel has also formally studied Ecovillage Design with Max Lindeggar of Crystal Waters Permaculture Village (Kakwa Ecovillage, 2003).
We are seeking sustainably oriented, skilled, and motivated people, who are physically, spiritually, and financially able to invest and assist in the development of this project. E-mail correspondence should be addressed with “Valles de Nanzal” as the subject.
