Twelve Tribes Gemeinschaft in Klosterzimmern
Deiningen, Bavaria,
Germany

A very long time ago - so they say - a huge meteorite shot out of the universe, hit the earth, and through its impact created an amazing valley where we are living now: the Ries crater in Bavaria with its rich soil. Our Community in Klosterzimmern is located right in the center of it, surrounded by large fields and right at the junction of two brooks. Klosterzimmern is a place with a long history where many generations of hardworking Bavarian families have lived. Now a different kind of people live in this place. We used to live like everyone else in society — working, going to school, trying to make it in the system, trying not to get run over, or trying to get ahead, or even trying to believe in a cause or in God. Some seemed successful at it, most were not. Whatever we did, it left us feeling empty, lonely, and searching for our purpose in life, for true love and… for the truth. Some of us almost despaired and gave up hope.
But then something happened: We met a people who lived a common life, who loved and encouraged one another daily, and forgave each other for their mistakes and shortcomings. Through the witness of this life of a true brotherhood God’s love became tangible to us for the first time. Realizing His love for us had the impact of a meteorite on us and changed our lives completely: We left behind our old lives, careers, and our selfish ambitions in order to gain this new life that God was establishing on the earth.
Our days are now filled with caring for one another and for our children, cooking, sewing, working in the fieds, and restoring this old farm estate. We try to be as self-sufficient as possible, eating what we grow in our fields, heating up water with solar power, and producing part of our electricity with our water turbine. In the mornings and evenings, we gather to sing and dance, and to hear the prophetic word which inspires us to become closer friends with Him and one another. We would love to share our common life with you and tell you about the wonderful hope of a new start that we have found in Yahshua the Messiah. We are looking forward to meeting you!
