Boston Community Cooperatives (BCC) is a 501(c)3 organization formed to build community through cooperative living, member education, neighborhood improvement and collective action. Members participate in a no-equity model of communally owned, democratically controlled and affordable residential cooperatives.
Currently, BCC has one rental co-op (BCC rents from a landlord), the Millstone Co-op in Somerville MA. Millstone is an 8 person vegetarian household.
BCC is in the middle of purchasing a house in Fields Corner, Dorchester, which would be a 12-person cooperative (yet unnamed). If this exciting project goes through, there will be a number of openings in both of the BCC houses in the spring of 2005.
