The Wild Human Initiative
Boone and Asheville areas, North Carolina,
United States
We are a tribe of free-minded, wild- hearted individuals and families.
We are creating grassroots community networks online, and we are searching for land and a suitable homestead in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
We have at least two main purposes as a nonprofit organization: to build grassroots community and to provide charitable relief to the traveling poor.
We also seek to build bridges of skill and understanding between ancient and contemporary life ways (blending computer technologies with wilderness survival skills, for example).
We plan to offer experiential, social, and educational opportunities in the form of potlucks, parties, workshops, field trips, seminars, websites with informative newsletters, and more.
We are seeking people with the following interests to brainstorm and vision with us about forming community on the land within the following year: unschooling and radical home learning; vegetarianism and healthy gardening; natural construction, including tree houses, springhouses, rope bridges, rock walls, and more; and people with musical talents and equipment.
We are primarily Rainbow people, although our friends fit all descriptions. We have no rules or regulations, except that one takes good care of oneself, respects and treats everyone with love and compassion, and takes care of others and the Earth too.
We truly believe that we are all in this together, and we are all family, and we can make our dreams come true now, by working, living, and loving together.
