Soma - The SOMA Project
SO CA, California,
United States
SOMA is about learning and living together.
Would you like to help build the society of tomorrow? Are you ready to learn, live, work, and play with other like-minded souls? Can you imagine a new type of community that is made up of several individual neighborhoods that are all linked together?
If your answer is yes, you are cordially invited to join SOMA, the community and school of the future.
The SOMA vision is, first, to create a new type of community that will offer a gathering of people and ideas from all over the world who want a stake in planning the future of humanity. This community is different from all others in that we are inclusive of many different groups of people, or neighborhoods within ourselves, that offer differing points of views and lifestyles, yet are all linked together.
Second, we wish to be designed around the concept of living in harmony, both with the environment and our fellow citizens. We also place a high emphasis on health and fitness, love and friendship, enlightenment and spirituality, creativity and education, and environmentalism and green building.
Third, we intend to create multiple sources of income through individual neighborhood businesses of differing types, and a central school and retreat center that will offer a wide variety of courses in everything from community building and psychic development to green living and life extension, to eclectic spirituality and holistic healing.
Currently there are two ways in which you can get involved: First, we are looking to build several different neighborhoods made up of five or more people each who have the wherewithal to invest the time, money, knowledge, and experience required to make this vision a reality. And second, we are also looking for a large house, building and/or parcel of land on which to base our community.
Please visit our website at the address listed above. See our blog at http://geocities.com/somacommunity/blog.html. To get involved please join at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/thesomacommunity/. To send us an email and to avoid spam, please join our Yahoo group first.
Thank you for your interest in SOMA, and I look forward to your participation. Please send the links above to anyone or any group you think would be interested, with their permission, of course.
