HAUSHABEN ANABAPTIST MISSION
Maine,
United States
This is a community project to clarify the anabaptist or early Church position on community as lived in the book of Acts.
We advocate ,as did the early Church, a radical stance as regards the Kingdom of God here, now proclaimed by Jesus.
It is not for the weak-kneed, or timid or those afraid of hard work and sacrifice.
We ask that all who enter into dialogue , "leave their agendas, especially that of fundamentalism, at the gate".
As our world gets closer to the brink; few are those who will find the gate of Love...Jesus Christ.
We are Anabaptist in beliefs and practice, though not Amish or Mennonite.
We hold to many of the same doctrines. We dress plain; women wear a prayer covering during worship; We sing without musical instruments.
But most of all ,we believe in being a "beacon, a light of hope to the lost of this world...that is our mission.
Having a small farm, we will help others to find and purchase farms of their own near-by (see website)
We post suggested reading materials and spell out our (Early Church) stance on doctrine.
WE welcome all inquires. We go through a "getting to know each other" process via phone calls, letters and the like.
We welcome your sincere inquiry!
WE ARE SEEKING HOMELESS FAMILIES WHO HAVE BEEN EVICTED BY A WORLDLY ECONOMIC SYSTEM THAT HAS FINALLY SHOWN ITS COLORS! {not of the Kingdom of God}
We will help you to get back on your feet.
It is time that true Christians show our true colors..."by our love for one another" Call for details

Statement of Housing Non-discrimination:
Our community fits the legal definition of "housing for older persons" * and thus we may restrict membership/residency to those of a certain age and may have limits on child membership/residency in accordance with the law. Our community does not discriminate based on race/color, national origin, religion, sex/gender, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, ancestry, source of income, creed, personal appearance, political affiliation, HIV infection, military/veteran status, unfavorable military discharge, gender identity or expression, receiving public assistance, or domestic abuse.

Our community does not discriminate in regards to housing based on race/color, national origin, religion, sex/gender, family status (i.e. having children, not having children, or being pregnant), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, ancestry, source of income, age, creed, personal appearance, political affiliation, HIV infection, military/veteran status, unfavorable military discharge, gender identity or expression, receiving public assistance, or being the victim of domestic abuse.

Because our housing is a single housing unit and requires the sharing of bathroom, kitchen and common space membership/residency may be restricted based on sex/gender in accordance with the law. Our community does not discriminate based on race/color, national origin, religion, family status (i.e. having children, not having children, or being pregnant), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, ancestry, source of income, age, creed, personal appearance, political affiliation, HIV infection, military/veteran status, unfavorable military discharge, gender identity or expression, receiving public assistance, or domestic abuse.

Our community is a legally sanctioned church or religious organization and living in our community is restricted to members of that religion as allowed by law. Our religion does not discriminate based on race, color, or national origin. Housing in our community is non-commercial (i.e. not intended to make a profit).

Our community does not provide land or housing and is therefore not subject to fair housing laws.

Housing in our community is incidental to employment and therefore fair housing laws do not apply (though employment discrimination laws may).
