Farm at Burlington
I-City is located near Kanorado, Kansas.
We have three dedicated properties, a farm near Burlington, Colorado, that includes 13 buildings, a second farm near Goodland, Kansas and an industrial building in Goodland.
At I-City we raise vegetables and herbs for our own consumption and for sale. We operate five greenhouses and are under construction on a commercial mushroom facility. Ideas for food preservation are welcome and often affect our agricultural plans.
We are currently looking for new members; persons with farming (including mycology) and handyman skills are especially needed but we also seek people with business management and Internet sales experience. Persons with automotive and farm equipment maintenance experience are needed to help us grow our equipment fleet.
I-City provides housing at no cost and paid employment for its resident members.
People of all ages are welcome at I-City. We do our best to quickly locate housing for new members. The 4-bedroom house shown in the pictures is scheduled to be available in April-May 2012. It is suitable for a family or group.
I-City is governed by task-related interest committees. It does not have a hierarchical government. If you are interested in vegetable farming, Internet sales or mushroom culture, you will have the opportunity to do it here.
There are no restrictions or qualifications for membership in I-City. There are also no financial requirements or membership fees.
Prospective members are encouraged to come for a visit before making any commitment. We will not make a commitment until we meet you and have a chance to work with you.
If you are interested in learning more about I-City, contact us.
Most of our members own pets and the only requirement for pets is that they do not damage property or menace the wildlife who live here.
