Harmony Green Village
Montgomery County, King of Prussia region, Pennsylvania,
United States
SEEKING AT LEAST 5 HOUSEHOLDS WANTING TO BUILD A LEED EQUIVALENT GROUP OF TOWNHOUSES OR ATTACHED SINGLE STORY HOUSES, SHARING A WELL FOR GEOTHERMAL HEAT PUMPS, IF NOTHING ELSE! ALL THE REST WILL BE UP TO THE PEOPLE THAT SIGN ON. UPPER MERION TOWNSHIP HAS LAND TO SPARE, AND A PLANNING BOARD ANXIOUS TO ATTRACT A 55+ COMMUNITY ACCORDING TO AN EXISTING ZONING ORDINANCE. I BELIEVE THAT THE TOWNSHIP IS PROGRESSIVE ENOUGH THAT THE THOUGHT OF OFFERING "GREEN" UPGRADES TO EVERY HOUSEHOLD INVOLVED WOULD HOLD APPEAL TO THEIR PLANNERS AS WELL. IF ONLY 5 HOUSEHOLDS OF ANY AGE EXPRESS AN INTERST IN BUILDING AS "GREEN" AS WE CAN AFFORD, THAT WOULD BE FINE TOO! ALL THAT IS PERMANENTLY ETCHED IN MY MIND IS HAVING NEIGHBORS THAT BELIEVE IN BEING NEIGHBORLY AND WHO BELIEVE IN HAVING A "GREEN" HOME & LIFESTYLE AS OUR COLLECTIVE CONTRIBUTION TO THE WELL BEING OF THE EARTH!
We can decide to have separate lots and ownership with no legal connection to one another if we so desire, (except for the common "well" for geothermal heat pumps!)or go right up to the organizational structure of a typical Ecovillage (Cohousing Community)if we so desire.
