Our goal is a symbiosis of village, farm, and forest for up to 2,500 people on 1,200 acres--a whole valley on the north shore of Dorena Lake, near Eugene, Oregon. Homes, businesses, and community facilities are being clustered in and near a pedestrian solar village, preserving over 1,000 acres of forest and meadow.

We're planning a self-supporting settlement, with organic agriculture, sustainable forestry, and a variety of small businesses on-site. While homes and businesses are privately owned, all residents are members of the nonprofit Cerro Gordo Cooperative, which owns community land and utilities and facilitates democratic self-government. We're seeking to create a life-enhancing community that reintegrates the human community and our inner selves with the larger community of the biosphere.
