Three Springs is an environmentally oriented, consensus-based community founded in 1993. We presently have 9 adult members and 6 children, with plans for 12 to 14 adults. Our primary focus is to share our land and strive to create healthy relationships with each other and all living things around us. We are excited about the communities movement and what it can do in a positive way for people and the Earth. As we gain experience, we share information and resources to help others.
We are located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas, 45 miles northeast of Fresno and 30 miles southeast of Yosemite National Park. Our 160 acres is an idyllic, peaceful, rural setting with a diversity of native plants and animals. A year-round creek with waterfalls, swimming holes, and rock formations runs through our land, and thousands of acres of national forest are adjacent to us. The land is owned by a mutual benefit nonprofit corporation. We also plan to put a conservation easement on the property with environmental guidelines and zoned areas for community living.
We believe in living lightly on the land, which we define as sustenance (growing and harvesting much of our own food), shelter (working with environmentally oriented architecture), social and spiritual (developing and nurturing healthy relationships). Please feel free to write.
