Catholic Worker Community of Cleveland
Cleveland, Ohio,
United States
Deeply convinced of the radical truth of the Gospel, we strive to follow a Catholic Worker philosophy. We emphasize the corporal works of mercy--identifying with and ministering to the homeless, poor, sick, imprisoned--and radical action against the causes of poverty and oppression. We seek to be nonviolent and opposed to all war and to answer Jesus' call to be peacemakers. We recognize the continual need to clarify our thought through prayer, reflection, dialogue, and action.
We are forming a loving and caring resistance community with a strong spiritual base that will enable us to share our lives with those who are broken--not just for their sake but for ours as well, knowing that we are all sisters and brothers.
Come to Cleveland! We need new community members to live in our intentional community and to help in our work with the homeless on Cleveland's west side. Our ministry includes a cooperative community, a drop-in center, several small houses of hospitality, a newspaper, and efforts in resistance to violence and militarism. We invite those interested in this possibility to write us or call 216-631-3059 and ask for Joe.
