Atmasantulana Village: a holistic living, healing, and learning community. An ancient university for modern times, Atmasantulana Village was founded and inspired by Shri Balaji Tambe, an Ayurvedic doctor. This community was created by and for members all over the world who could visualize the need for it and can accept a simple life with the principle of "service above self."
Atmasantulana Village is a space in nature surrounded by mountains, close to a beautiful river about 110 kilometers from Mumbai. It offers facilities for cultural and educational activities. Ayurveda is practiced--an ancient holistic healing system--including preventive medicine and alternative therapies for purification of body, mind, and soul. The healing work done in the village is an opportunity for the residents to offer their services.
Nature, fresh air, healing, music, devotion, pure food, and natural medicine are giving miraculous results. Courses are offered in art of living, yoga, meditation, massage, and Ayurveda. The Aum Temple, unique in the world, is the nucleus of the community, open to people of all religions and beliefs. The village is a model, and the members wish that such communities would develop all over the world, as they are the answer to the disintegration of modern life.
