| We are a residential community just north of Philadelphia on 240 acres, including 75 homesteads on two-acre lots, a community center, recreational facilities, and 45 wilderness acres eased to a local conservancy. Member families own their homes and lease their lots.
We consider applicants for membership in a fair and friendly process whereby both applicants and members have the opportunity to judge goodness of fit. The membership process is an important aspect of the community; it entails attending two monthly meetings, then having a meeting with the Membership Committee and the opportunity for visiting with all 75 member families in small groups. Persons interested in becoming members can contact the community. We value diversity and seek to increase it, in not only race, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and religion, but in outlook and opinion, as much as possible within the framework of cooperation and neighborliness that is the strength of our community. Our management style consists of numerous committees, a board of directors, and monthly membership meetings where lively debate is often heard.
Prohibitions include snowmobiles, ATVs, fences (except for livestock/gardens), and alcohol on common land. Many members have gardens and fruit trees; some have small farm animals. Members work and are otherwise active in the civic life of the surrounding community and region. | Community location is placed at the center of the zip/postal code, city/state, or city/country (not based on street addresses) |
