Wellspring
West Bend, Wisconsin,
United States
Wellspring's residential community is integrally connected to the garden program March through November. Members from the larger community support Wellspring and its educational programs: wellness education, the arts, ecology and gardening, and personal-growth retreats. The retreat and conference center is open to the public as are its bed-and-breakfast and international hostel.
Local families subscribe to six months of organic produce each season. Volunteers help the community with the work. Urban garden classes are provided for the community.
Wellspring is an easy driving distance from Milwaukee yet is surrounded by nearly 1,000 acres of green space, a nature center, and country landscape. River frontage, meadows, woods, ponds, labyrinth, and a restored prairie enhance the natural beauty of Wellspring.
