Kimbercote Farm is a place for justice-seeking and nurture which is dedicated to social and environmental justice, activism, education, advocacy and programming; spiritual exploration, art, living, music, planting, play, healing, making visions and dreams happen. We are a dynamic, intergenerational community that fosters and celebrates stewardship of the land, responsible use of resources, and renewal for groups and individuals seeking social justice. We strive to grow into a multi-ethnic, interfaith, and oppression-free community of hope. The farm serves as a place where those who are involved in the busyness of anti-oppression work, activism and education come to rest, rejuvenate and learn.
Members share questions about the direction our world is going, and about a meaning for our lives in it. We share a concern about current systems and social structures in Canada and throughout the world. We want to engage with global voices to explore opportunities for connection and for change. Our goal is to foster renewal. We encourage regeneration of our selves, our communities, and our systems through engaging in actions that help resolve the split between dream and doing, between theory and act.
Kimbercote Farm is registered as a non-profit charitable organization. We survive by a small revenue generated from our on-site retreat centre, which is sliding scale and rented to other groups for their exclusive use.
We hold many events and gatherings during the year, but four of these are annual: a spring work (& play) weekend, a fall work (& play) weekend, an Annual General Meeting of the membership, and our political music fesival "MusiChaos" which happens the second weekend in August.
In addition to this on-site programming includes organic gardening, eco-building, art & music for the revolution, health & healing, & radical media on refurbished computers running open source software. Of course a lot of what goes on depends on who is on site.
