Wise Woman Center / Laughing Rock Farm
Woodstock, New York,
United States
Goddesses, goats, and green witches gather at the Wise Woman Center to reweave the healing cloak of the ancients. Community members of Laughing Rock Farm prepare organic wild-food meals including fresh goat cheeses for the guests, who come to study herbal medicine with Susun S. Weed and spirit healing with Vicki Noble, Z Budapest, Whitefeather, and many others.
Community members have time to attend all workshops and weekday goat walks, plus plant talks with Weed. There is an emphasis on the Green Nations: herb gardens and herbal remedies for people and animals—we have goats, geese, rabbits, cats, ducks—and herbal, wild-food, good cooking. We forage for mushrooms in our rocky, magical forest where fairies play with us, the turtles swim with us in the river and ponds, and the owl's cry soothes our hearts.
Life in our community is based on speaking your truth every morning at talking stick. We seek to love all parts of ourselves compassionately. Personal time is encouraged. Personal responsibility is absolutely required of all members, as is participation in simple ceremonies celebrating life and the seasons. Our days and nights are rich with experience and learning.
